About renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements
Better Energy Power Purchase Agreements offer companies an alternative to buying electricity on the spot market. Get introduced to what a PPA is and how it can help your company choose green energy.
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a contract to purchase energy at a fixed price per megawatt-hour (MWh) over a set period of time. A growing number of companies are choosing PPAs as an alternative to buying electricity from the spot market.
Renewable energy from a solar park
When you sign a PPA, your company commits to purchasing green energy from a Better Energy solar park. This means the agreed volume of consumption is covered by production from a solar park in our portfolio.
Green energy with a Guarantees of Origin (GoO)
Guarantees of Origin (GoO) documents each megawatt of renewable energy your company purchases through a PPA. These GoOs certify that the green energy was generated from a specific solar park and delivered to your company.
These can be used to report your company's market-based scope 2 emissions in line with GHG protocol and CSRD.
PPAs for additionality
Your company's long-term commitment to offtake renewable energy contributes to establishing new solar parks without government subsidies. Together with our partners, we're increasing the amount of renewable energy in the grid.
Having energy offtakers ready and committed provides financial security that enables us to build new renewable energy capacity.
